Wishful was an RIT capstone project completed in 2021. Due to COVID-19, we had to work from home to create a project that would be engaging for Imagine RIT.

Imagine RIT is a major annual event showcasing senior projects. Our project was featured on local news and the RIT website. We wanted to share inspiration during the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This project helped me understand our MVP and bridge the gap between design and development. Our team included just two developers; Will and I took on hybrid roles as both designers and developers. This gave us a great opportunity to bring design and development together into tangible solutions.

I created an AR experience to make Wishful more interactive and enjoyable for users at home. I also contributed to the UX design, focusing on a seamless experience to ensure smooth transitions throughout the project.

Growth Opportunities

Reality vs. Imagination:

With a powerful tool like Figma, it’s easy to imagine all the bells and whistles, but when it comes to development, making those ideas a reality can be more challenging within tight time frames.

As a hybrid designer-developer, I can see how to make ideas more feasible, helping our team achieve the vision we wanted to create and bring it to life.

Development:

As a developer, I gained valuable experience writing JavaScript code and integrating libraries into our designs. I really enjoy working on front-end development, while our backend developers, Jason and Gabe, bring the ideas to life through code.
